My Sister The Serial Killer

This is such a delicious novel to read! Smart, compelling, and fun, it subverts the serial thriller genre. Set in Nigeria, it tells the story of beautiful serial killer Ayoola through the eyes of her protective older sister Korede as she cleans up her sister's murders. There are so many things I loved about the novel but the highlight for me was the focus on two sisters and the depiction of their relationship. How far would you go to protect your sister? How much power does beauty hold in society? Is helping your sister cover up her mistakes enabling her behaviour? There are so many rich questions explored in this and it's told with such a riveting pace that I would recommend it as one of my favourite reads!
